Google Android would power more than just mobile devices
T-Mobile USA and Google are going to launch the first mobile device to be powered with their Android mobile platform today.
Incoming reports are now stating that the platform could be used to power more than just mobile devices in the future.
John Bruggeman, chief marketing officer at Wind River Systems spoke about the possibilities: “We’re starting to see Android get designed in on devices that extend way beyond the phone–things that might go in the automobile or things that might go in the home.”
He added: “I don’t want to pre-announce any design wins. I think you’ll see them in 2009. I would be shocked if you didn’t.”
Google has yet not commented on these reports in the media. It’s clear that all the focus is on mobile devices.
