I didn’t download xp-shield but I did get a nuisance pop up program injected into my system when i downloaded a game. I started getting popups stating that I had system errors and my email program would start up pointing to xp-shield. com to download the spyware scanner. I had a hard time getting rid of the popups. Upon going through the startup programs I found a couple of entries in the registry regarding a file called sysc.dll in C:\programfiles\common files\designer that seemed suspicious. I tried deleting and changing the entries but they kept reappearing. I tried to delete the sysc.dll file but but received a message that the program was running and it wouldn’t delete. I was able to rename the file sysc.drr and the problem stopped. Hope this info may help someone.
